An e-mail from my webhost

aina42 and anarie111 I figured I would let you know about this.


If you are receiving this E-Mail, you are on a Dr2.net Webhosting
server which will be moved within the next few days.

Where is it moving? Well, it's moving from Newark, New Jersey, to
Houston, Texas.

The current server hardware specifications are:
Pentium4 2.4GHz Processor
512MB SDRAM
2x 80GB 7200RPM IDE Hard Drives

The new server hardware specifications are:
Dual Pentium4 Xeon 2.0GHz Processors
1GB DDR RAM
2x 73GB 10000RPM SCSI Hard Drives

What does this mean?
1 - There will be a dramatic speed increase with your site. As well as
a greater capacity of which the new server will be able to handle. We
know that service from this server hasn't been great, this move is to
compensate for any slow speeds that you may have encountered over the
past few months.
2 - You _may_ need to change some settings with your domain registrar.
If you are currently running your own nameservers, or are running your
DNS elsewhere, you will need to update the IPs associated with the DNS!
3 - On the night of 22nd, it will be a good idea to set your MX Mail
Entry (in the cPanel mail area) to 'echo3.1oftheservers.net' -- this will
forward all mail to the new server, until the move is completed. It
might also be a good idea to shut down any forums, until the move is
completed, to prevent information loss & difference.

When will the move be taking place?
On the 22nd of this month (July). You may experience very slow sites
during the move, as everything is being copied from the current server.
But, within 72 hours, your site should be resolving to the new server,
and loading quicker than ever.

We would like to apologize for any inconvenience that this move brings
upon your site, but it is for the best, and will definitely improve the
service provided.

(Special note to resellers: This E-Mail was NOT sent to your customers,
you will need to inform them of the move)

The gist of it, my website will be down for a while because it is moving to a new server.

molk, lotjeisgraaf, omicron32, nilmandra, legolasbow, and anyone else with a hosting plan at Dr2.Net, I'm not sure if this will affect you either, as I'm on one of the older servers, you may not be. Better check your e-mail.

Sometime tomorrow night (My time) you might not be able to upload and view images you have in your webspace.

It shouldn't last to long though, hopefully.
