Anyone ever MUD before? MUD is a text based D&D game played online. You can fight computer controlled monsters (known as mobs), increase your HP, class youself as something such as a vampire, mage, drow etc. and basically have a lot of fun :) I haven't mudded in a very long time, but after I got my webiste, there was plenty of space, I said "why not?" So I started up my own. At first it wouldn't work, couldn't figure out what was wrong. I was getting a lot of compiling errors, so I gave up. Then, I tried it today, and presto, it worked. I haven't done much with it yet, gave it a name, Fens of Time, and just went through all the code trying to relearn how it all worked.
If you want to try it out, click here. If you want to use a different MUD client, the address is yaksha.net and the port is 9000
It starts out asking for a name, password, and gender. After you do that, a few messages will come up, feel free to read them or press enter to skip by.
Welcome to my MUD!
Everything is text based, no graphics. Any command you want to do, you have to type it in. Type commands to see a list of all the commands. All the commands have help files, so just type help kill and it will tell you what you need to know about kill.
Look around, see what you can do. A few good commands:
autoexit - This will tell you which directions you can move. Up, Down, North, South, East, or West. Just type the direction you want to go, and it moves you to a different room in that direction.
level - This shows how good you are with weapons, stances, and magic. You have to use different weapons/stances/magic to get better at them
score - Tells you information about your character, AC, Hitroll, Damroll, Alignment etc.
kill - Very important! Kill or be killed. I would suggest when you start out, go south and start killing some rabbits and snails for practice.
The place is made up of thousands of rooms you can walk through.
There are different commands to talk to people. If you want to talk to everyone online, type newbie hello. This will show everyone on the MUD that you said hello. If you're in a room with someone, you can type say hello and only the people in the room will see you say hello.
Anyway, if anyone is interested, stop on by, ask questions and I'll be willing to help. Cya there!
