The last few days
May. 11th, 2004 05:50 amPictures from this weekend. This is the "New and Improved" image viewing thing I made. You can pic the number of pics per page you want, so it won't load them all at once. It also loads thumbnails rather than a full sized picture that is just shrunk down, but the quality of the thumbnails isn't that good.
The trip was fun. I drove to where my dad had parked the motorhome to meet up with him, Dyana and Maleah. I had to jump the car they were towing. My dad didn't turn the car all the way off after he had hooked it up and put the car in neutral, so the battery had died. We drove my car up. Our first stop was Sedona. Beautiful place. We stopped by an interesting church that was there. Went around shopping in the gift shops to please the women, went up to the airport where there's some great views of the whole area.
After that we drove up to Flagstaff and stayed the night there. Woke up and drove to the Grand Canyon. Lots of stops to take pictures, look through gift shops, and other touristy things. Our plan was to drive the rim north east to another city called Page. On the way there Dyana noticed we were low on gas. Dad was driving, since he knew the area better. We looked at a map and found a gas station, we were heading towards it so it was OK. When we got there, we saw that it closed at six. It was 6:15. The nearest gas station was 20 miles back, and there was no way we could make that. So we drove back about 10 miles to where the hotels are on the Grand Canyon. I called my road side assistance and they gave me a number to a tow-truck company that could bring some gas. It was really expensive though. Ended up paying $80 for 5 gallons of gas.
It was too late to drive to Page, so we stayed the night there. I had to work the next day, but I was fine with it as long as we got home in time. We got up the next morning and started to drive towards Phoenix. We made a stop at Montezuma's Castle on the way. We got back into Phoenix with only about an hour before I had to leave for work, so no nap time for me. I said bye to Dad, he is on his way back to Washington now.
Works been OK. A little slow.
lotje comes in tomorrow :-D I'm excited about that. It should be lots and lots of fun.
