Cake and Graduation
Feb. 27th, 2004 08:40 pmSo I went into work last night and in the break room was a cake, it said "Congratulations Matt" and had a graduation cap on it :D
Dixie, the process tech, bought it. She's cool, but incredibly shy and anti-social. Josh and I became good friends with her. If we have a question about something, or if we break a wafer or anything like that, she's the one we have to go to. She knows it all ;-) Josh and I talk to her, getting more friendly. We're incredibly nice to her, Josh calls her his "favoritest person from Favorite Person Land" and whenever I need her to do something to me I'll walk up to her and say something like "Wow Dixie, those safety goggles REALLY bring out the color in your eyes."
The cake went pretty fast. I went out at 1AM to get a slice, no one had had any yet. So I put out plates and forks so others could have some. I went back in at 2 and only one other person had had cake. I came back out at 3:30 to use the bathroom and get a few things and the only thing left of the cake was the little area below the graduation cap :p
Went home after work, then went to bed around 8 so I could get a few hours of sleep before graduation. Woke up, got ready for graduation, Josh drove me and my mom. My dad, Dyana, Maleah, and my sisters Laurie and Michelle met us there a bit later. I thought my dad was going to go crazy driving around four women (that's a lot of estrogen to manage ...) for four hours, but he came up with the perfect solution. He drove his motorcycle while the women followed behind in the car. Go dad! :-D
Graduation was long and pretty boring, as usual :p Felt really good getting my degree though. It's so pretty :-D I got "Cum Laude" and got to wear a white rope around my robe.
After graduation we went to a Chinese/American buffet. Was pretty good. Went to Josh's parents, Josh's dad just bought a motorcycle, so he showed my dad.
A pretty good day :) But now, I'm tired, so I'll sleep during the night and get my sleep schedule back to something normal :p
