Computer = D E D
May. 28th, 2005 08:56 pmI've got everything over at the new apartment with most of it unpacked. My bookshelf came apart during the move (it was several years old and not put together very well in the first place) so the stuff that was on that is still in boxes. I don't think my computer made it though.
I got everything plugged in, when I hit the power button, it comes on for two seconds and then powers off. I moved it to the front room and unplugged and replugged everything back in, (minus the monitor, keyboard, mouse) same thing.
protokol_4 came by and I went to show her. I turned on the power and it stayed on. So I moved it back into the bedroom, plugged everything in, and it reverted back to powering on for two seconds.
Not entirely sure what's wrong, could be the power supply, or I may have fried something in the move. I'll mess with it later this week so I probably won't be online much (just what I can get at work and the library).
My last day at FlipChip is Monday! I'll start at ASML the following Monday. No word yet on where they'll send me first, but it'll probably be within the first few weeks of starting there.

Date: 2005-05-29 05:05 am (UTC)It's like, I'll be typing like this and then it'll reboot itself with no warning at all. I've also noticed that the fan whirrs at different speeds...
From what I've read, it's either the PSU, the Motherboard or the Memory cards. Which one's causing the restarts?
It's okay if you don't have an answer though. I just needed to vent. :p

Date: 2005-05-29 07:04 am (UTC)I have a feeling it was the motherboard, I think the problems starting occuring after I swapped that out.

Date: 2005-05-29 07:08 am (UTC)The lousy thing is if I change the PSU and it's not its fault. Wasted money and time.
