This happened at my apartment complex last night ...


Two questioned in deadly shooting

Police are questioning two women in connection with a deadly early morning shooting at a Mesa apartment complex.

Two women were detained after they were seen rushing from the apartment complex right after the shooting.
An officer was already on the scene at 8th Avenue and Alma School Road on an unrelated call when it happened. He was just leaving when heard several shots and went back to investigate.
The officer discovered one of the victims. John Garner, 30, had been shot several times in the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The officer continued his search and found the other victim, a man who had been shot in the face. That man, whose name has not been released, was taken to the hospital. His injuries are not considering life threatening.
Two women were seen hurrying from the apartment complex right after the shooting. Police detained them for questioning, but at this point, they are not considered suspects in the double shooting.
Police do not yet know what sparked the shooting.

I stopped by the new apartment today to sign papers and get the key. It's pretty cool. The only big downside is I don't have a cable hookup in my room. How weird is that? There's two in the front room and one in the Master Bedroom, but none in mine. I'll start moving everything in tomorrow.

I've got a big packet of paperwork from my new job, W-4, insurance stuff, etc. Hope my boss doesn't mind me working on it at my current job ...

Yeah, I've used that line a few times this weeks, he thinks it's funny :P

He's cool though, he basically extended my "two weeks notice" an extra week, then put down all those days as the vacation time I had left. Otherwise my vacation time would have gone to waste, as the company doesn't pay it out when you leave.

You can pay, I think it's like $15 or more to get them to put a cable outlet in your room - check with the cable company.

I am SO glad that we are both getting out of there. I knew that the place had gone to shit, but I had no idea it was that bad.
