Do you get the feeling that Dernhelm is not going to be a surprise?
I mean in the book , it's not apparent it's Eowyn until she faces down the Wiki - such a shock to Merry.
This makes it look like the feasability of Eowyn trying to pass off as a man is not going to work and so a little reworking is in order - she may be able to fool the characters but not the audience and is, the audienc in fact going to be in the know - it's so easy to do on the page, you have no visuals, but the film Dernhelm is going to be a challenge to pull off.
Still if PJ doesn't go with "Begone foul Dwimmerlaik" I will roast him - but only gently as he has brought my favourite book to screen in tremendous detail and I praise him with much praise (Oh and if that's in I'll roast him) ... RA

Yeah, I think it will be like Gandalf the White. While most people were hoping that it would remain secret, it was pretty obvious by those who watched trailers and saw posters.

Like Gollum, I really don't expect to see much of her in the trailers and movie posters. I'm hoping for none at all. There were some quick glimpses of Gollum in the trailers, but not much.

He got rid of some of the best lines in FOTR and TTT (like Gollum saying that Sauron would eat all the world) so I'm not hopeful. :(
