I just found the coolest program ever.
I setup my new laptop on my desk, next to my monitor. My desktop has been pissing me off a lot recently with the random rebooting, so I've just been using the laptop (even though the desktop is significantly faster.)
Anyway, the position of the laptop keyboard and the touch mouse gets really annoying after a while, but the laptop also doesn't have any plugs for a keyboard and mouse. That's where Synergy comes in. Basically, I installed the program on both the laptop and the desktop and I use the desktop with its keyboard and mouse as the server. If I ever want to use the keyboard and mouse on the laptop, I just "bump" the right side of my monitor with the mouse cursor, and like magic, the mouse is now moving on my laptop (the keyboard works there to). Bumping the left side of the laptop sends the mouse back to the desktop.
It's extremely cool. It even transfers the "copy and paste" stuff. So if I copy an image from my laptop, I can move the mouse over to the desktop, open photoshop, and paste it into there. Not exactly useful unless you have two computers sitting right next to each other, but it comes in very handy for me.
