Elessar Lives!
Jun. 1st, 2005 06:07 pmSo, after getting a new power supply from
mi_wounded_soul, my computer is now back to working condition. I wonder if the power supply was also to blame for the random rebooting. Guess I'll find out.
Yesterday I hung out with
mi_wounded_soul and
anarie111, it was lots of fun :-D We went to see Madagascar, which was pretty funny. Ate at a chinese buffet and then hung around their place for a while.
Had to work a while to get the Internet working. First of all, of the three cable outlets in the apartment, only one appears to be actively working. Once I discovered this, the modem wouldn't go online with the router, so I had to plug my computer directly into it. I'll call the maintenance people tomorrow to see about getting more of the cable outlets to work (I hate running wires all over the apartment ...) and figure out the issue with the router later.
protokol_4 isn't here, so it's not really a big priority to get her computer online.
I'm currently trying to switch back to a day shift schedule. I've worked night shift for a year and a half and my new job is going to be on day shift. After work on Tuesday morning, I slept for about 4 hours, ran some errands, hung out with
mi_wounded_soul and
anarie111 and then later
protokol_4. I went to bed around 3AM. Woke up around 8:30AM. Thought that was pretty good, and that my switch to dayshift would come around pretty easily. Then I decided to lay back down "for a minute." Ended up waking up at 5:30PM. Damnit. I'm seriously thinking of getting some kind of sleeping pills to force myself to sleep tonight, since there are errands I need to run tomorrow that I wasn't able to do today.
protokol_4 and I are probably going to go to Ikea tomorrow (I need a dresser and bookshelf, she needs something as well). It's her day off, so we'll probably spend most of it getting the apartment organized, unpacking everything, fighting over what goes where. And yes, my stupid ugly lamp will stay in the front room :-D
--EDIT--
OK, my computer just randomly rebooted. Guess that wasn't a power supply issue. I'm still thinking it's the motherboard. But if I change that, I'm gonna want to get a new processor, and then I want a new videocard, and then I want a ... you see where this is going, right?
