My First Entry

The Secret Diaries of Yaksha

This will be my first entry here. Big thanks to azurelunatic for showing me this place! My name is Yaksha, and I'm a Tolkienholic. I first read Tolkien when I was 12 years old and have been hooked ever since. I am currently reading the Lord of the Rings series for the 7th time and I'll tell ya ... it gets better every time! Not much happened today ... pretty basic wake up, go into chat room, go to school, go to work, go home, chat some more and head back to bed. Maybe I'll think of something more creative later. But for now, I will leave you with Gollum's Final Words: So Long And Thankss For All The Fisssh!

Tim Tams!

I'm part of a large Lord of the Rings message board could the Council of Elrond (see link below). It's a great place, with more social stuff than Tolkien stuff. Anyway, there's the program a girl from Australia named Xyla started on there called the Biscuit Exchange Program. What you do, send her your favorite kind of biscuit and in exchange she'll send you genuince Australian Tim Tams!

Now, a note on definations. To Australians, "biscuits" are what were would refer to as cookies. What we call buscuits they call scones. But I had to be a smart ass when I sent mine and sent some Pillsbury Grands ... unfortunately they got help up in Quarantee and spoiled. But I did send a Buddy Bar as well! Also, I sent her one of my Lord of the Rings toys, Gordon the Cave Troll. Here's her showing it off.



Right now the Tim Tams are sitting in the Office for the Apartment Complex. I can't get the out until the Managers come back from Thanksgiving. I hear they're absolutely delicious. Chocolate on the outside, chocolate on the inside, and a whole lot more chocolate. Should be interesting when I finally get to them!

Dreams of Dragons

I dreamed last night. I rarely remember my dreams. And it's even rarer that they have dragons in them, which was very cool. I woke up wondering on what day Glaurung born, he really should get a Christmas present. It was about that time that I realized it has been about a year since I bought Ancalagon, I can't remember the exact date, but for some reason Thanksgiving time is sticking in my head.

Got up and took a shower. Unfortunately two roomates had already taken a shower and the water was cold, not to mention the tub won't drain so the bottom of it still has water from yesterday. Dropped soap. Checked for prison inmates before picking it up. Put on my Hooters shirt, appropriate for Turkey Day?

Older Brother

I found out my older brother, Robb, will be spending this Thanksgiving at a homeless shelter mission. I can't say he doesn't deserve it. He's a moocher. He's almost 24 and he's never lived on his own, he is always mooching from my mom and dad, and stealing from them. He works on and off as a cook and collects unemployment, most of which he spends on drugs. He has worse asthma than I do, yet he smokes, and not just tobacco. Found out he tried to sell my mint condition Star Wars Trivial Pursuit game. My mom found it in his backpack when it was laying next to the computer. Both her and my dad have decided enough is enough and told him to get the hell out their galaxy ... or something like that.

Many Happenings

Let's see what's happened today, other than the boring mundane usual.

I went to my lab partners place for Thanksgiving, his name is Eric. They had a 24 pound turkey, and only 5 people. We barely ate half the white meat on the left side of the turkey. Lots of other goodies. Played chess a few times, he check-mated me the first time and the second time I decimated him, he had his king and 3 pawns left when I made a dumb move and stale-mated him. Oops.

I got on their computer and into chat while Eric and others decided to toke a little. I think I was getting some second hand action going, I was acting weirder than normal in chat. We played Playstation for a bit, bullshitted for a while, then Eric's girlfriend Sandy gave me a whole pumpkin pie to take home. Go me!

Forgot about grabbing some turkey before I left, bummer. Turkey is good. But all the other roomates brought home food so it should keep me well fed for a while. Planning on watching Boondock Saints at some point tonight, comes recommended from lotje.

I just noticed I've been chewing on this blue swizel stick type thing. I used it a few semesters ago for a part I had called an adjustable inductor ... haven't used it since, except for chewing on it of course.

Have updated my Profile some, will do more tomorrow.
