The first day went pretty good, I guess. They really weren't prepared to have me today. They're pretty used to hiring on a bunch of people at a time and doing group orientation and such, but I'm their only new hire.
Filled out all the HR paperwork, walked around the place for a bit with my new boss. He had me leave at one point so I could finish my passport stuff. Got all that done, plus I'll be reimbursed for the cost. Went to lunch with a few of the guys I'll be working with.
There was a bunch of stuff they were supposed to have ready for me, but for whatever reason, it got lossed in the shuffle. Basically I'll be getting a laptop, pager, corporate credit card, and a cubicle. I have OSHA (safety stuff) training tomorrow. They're hoping by the next day to have everything ready. I glanced in the cubicle I'll be getting and I think I saw the extension on the phone was "4242." That would rock.
